Bolton’s beautifully haunting Cherry Ghost, who’s debut album, Thirst for Romance, entered the charts at No.7 on its release in 2007, will be touring the UK this October on the back of follow up album, Beneath This Burning Shoreline, which was released this month to huge critical acclaim.
Cherry Ghost began in 2005, and quickly become one of only a handful of bands and musicians to have ever been invited to perform on ‘ Later... with Jools Holland’ before having released any material. In 2007 they signed to Heavenly Records, and released their debut single "Mathematics" and album, Thirst for Romance. In September that year, Cherry Ghost were nominated for the Q Awards Best New Act at the 2007 and won a 2008 Ivor Novello Award for "People Help the People" in the category of Best Contemporary Song.
Second album Beneath This Burning Shoreline was released in July 2010 immediately gaining a landslide of positive critical response including 4-star reviews from Q, The Guardian, and The Independent The album's first single, "Kissing Strangers," was released as a single-track download on 28 June 2010 and has already been tipped by Mojo as a contender for a second Ivor Novello.
